Chalone
Chardonnay

Hard to imagine it's been almost 40 years since founder Dick Graff "discovered" it was possible to produce a top-flight Burgundian-styled chardonnay from this remote site.
It is a unique (one of a kind) high altitude location, home of extinct volcanic spires called Pinnacles. This sloping limestoned area is a singlar microclimate unto itself. Winemaker Dan Karlsen says, "The wines have intense mineral qualities; richness in body and aroma. There's also that hazelnut, or brioche quality that originates in the grapes and which is fully incorperated into the wine by sur lie aging and batonage (stirring of the lees)".
The Chardonnay was recently named "Top 100 wines" by the Wine Spectator. $30.00
The Pinot Blanc is claimed by many to be the best in America. $24.00

Serego Alighieri
Valpolicella Classico Superiore

Historic Unique-Yummy-Affordable
What more should we want? This Veneto property was purchased by "Dante's" son in 1353. Farmed uninterrupted for 20 generations by the Alighieri family, this wine is a blend of Corvino, Rondinella and a "Serego" clone of Molinara propogated from pre-phylloxera vines planted in 1875. Unique in that it spends 24 months in Slavonian oak & then is "educated" in large cherry wood casks for 3 months.
Smooth, elegant and rich. Only $14.99
